Facilities Master Plan

The Illinois Community College Board requires all community colleges to update their campus master plan every five years.  Oakton updated its  with a new plan, which was approved by the Board of Trustees at its June 2017 meeting.

Guided by the Master Plan Steering Committee and the team of architects, updating the master plan was a collaborative effort that responded to Oakton’s guiding principles. A campus utilization study helped inform decision making with pertinent data regarding the current use of facilities.

Steering committee meetings began Sept. 22, 2016, and the updated master plan was completed in April, 2017. Implementation of the proposed renovations is expected to continue over the next five years.

As part of the continuing improvements to the college's physical plant at both Des Plaines and Skokie campuses, many new projects are underway. Updates, including meeting minutes, can be found below.

More information about the steer committee, plan updates, etc., can be found on the public pages.
